Summer Maxi

Maxi 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

Happy Thursday!

A good maxi is a necessity for summer! When I have those days that I don’t feel like getting ready, or wanna pull my hair in a bun and slip on some sandals; maxis are my go-to! It’s been SO hot here the past few days so I’ve been wearing this dress nonstop. It’s super comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down. I also love this print! This dress is currently sold out on Loft’s website but I linked a few other maxi’s I’ve been loving lately.

This weekend I’m headed to Charleston with my best friend and her family! I’m so excited for a little mini-vacay and can’t wait to have some fun in the sun 🙂

A Few Ways to Improve Your Morning Routine

Weekends Tee // Comforter // Sheets // Morning Face Wash // Daily Moisturizer // Favorite Coffee

A good morning routine is so important and essential to your day. I have to admit that I’m the farthest thing from a morning person- I need coffee and a good 30 minutes before I’m ready to speak to anyone in the morning (hehe)! However, my alarm goes off around 6:30am everyday so I’ve slowly started getting used to being up early. I’ve read a lot lately on how morning routines can change your day completely and lead to a healthier lifestyle. Here is a couple steps you can take to make your morning or wake-up routine a little better:

–  Wake-Up + Warm Up: My morning/day honestly depends on how much sleep I get at night. I need at least 7/8 hours to function through the day! My boyfriend always makes fun of me and calls me such a grandma because I’m ready to go to bed at like 8:30/9 every night. I love getting to bed early and waking up feeling refreshed and ready to get my day going. Once I’m awake, the very first thing I do when I get out of bed is stretch. I sleep on my stomach or curled up on my side so my muscles are super tight in the morning. It feels great to do a few quick stretches and kinda warm up my body to get going.

–   Washing Your Face: One thing that I love to do in the morning is wash my face. Some mornings I just splash cold water on my face to wake up but other mornings I will use Acne Stress Control; Power-Clear Scrub by Neutrogena. I love it because it’s a gentle exfoliant that won’t dry your skin out and it smells so good (like cucumbers and green tea). It also has a cooling effect once you rinse it off that leaves your skin feeling soft and soothed. Once my face is washed, I apply Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Face Lotion as my daily moisturizer. It has SPF 15 in it which is great for me because my face is covered with freckles! I’ve found that washing my face or having a morning skin-care routine helps my skin feel refreshed and awake!

–   Eat a Good Breakfast: I have to make coffee in the morning to wake up (yes, I’m one of those girls that is coffee obsessed and yes I put a ton of creamer in mine so some people might not even consider it coffee). My favorite coffee is the Folgers Vanilla Biscotti K-Cups if you’re looking for a new one to try… I highly recommend! Then I normally eat a banana, fruit, cereal/granola bar, or bagel for breakfast. Eating breakfast gives me the essential nutrients I need to keep my energy up throughout morning.

–   Spice Up Your Drive to Work: I typically don’t like listening to music while I’m driving to work. Greenville has a local radio station B93.7 (the Hawk and Tom show) that I usually listen to in the morning. They are hilarious and are so entertaining! I highly recommend finding a local radio show to listen to for some morning entertainment. My best friend also recently showed me some podcasts she’s been listening to on her drive to work. If you are obsessed with Bachelor/Bachelorette like we are, then you should to listen to the Reality Steve podcast. He interviews former cast members about their lives and gets the dirt/behind the scenes of the show! It’s so good! She also recommended the ‘Up and Vanished’ podcast which I haven’t gotten to listen to yet. I think she said it was more of a murder mystery/solving cases type of podcast.

I saw this Weekends t-shirt at Target and had to have it because it is SO soft. It’s the perfect pajama shirt! My dog (Banks) decided he was going to join the shoot and looks like he is even smiling for one of the pictures… how cute?! 🙂

One Shoulder Floral Dress (for less than $40)

Dress // Similar One Shoulder Options: #1 // #2 // #3 // Yellow Clutch // Shoes

Happy Sunday! It’s no secret that the off the shoulder trend everyone is wearing right now is here to stay for the summer. However, I personally love the one shoulder look just as much- it’s different, but just as cute! I saw this one shoulder dress on Red Dress Boutique’s Instagram and instantly bought it. I don’t love many floral dresses, but this print is simple and cute for date night or a weekend trip (and it’s less than $40)! I’ve also been loving a pop of color with my outfits. I ordered this yellow suede clutch awhile back and it just came in the mail the other day. I love the size and can’t wait to wear it with other summer outfits!

Today, Ryan and I went to a restaurant called ‘Biscuit Head’for all you Greenvillians this is definitely a go to spot for brunch. We also had a Barnes and Noble date which are my favorite. I just bought a new book called, Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. She also wrote The Girl on the Train so I’m super excited to read this book! I will post a review of it later.

I hope y’all have a great week 🙂

The Perfect Vacation Dress

Dress // Earrings

Happy Sunday!

I think this dress is so much fun! I’m going on a cruise to Mexico this summer and this dress will definitely be coming with me. It’s such a fun pattern and I can’t get enough of these ruffle sleeves. Since it’s a white dress, I always check for a lining underneath so it won’t be see-through (luckily this one has a thick lining). It’s less than $60 and a must-have for summer!

This weekend was so relaxing! I’ve been traveling back and forth between Greenville and Rock Hill the past few weekends because my parents needed help moving. Normally mine and Ryan’s weekend are packed full of plans but we decided just to rest and take it easy this weekend. Over the years, I’ve developed really bad anxiety and feel the need to constantly be doing something. Some days I am so consumed in my daily schedule and to-do list that I forget to take time to just breathe and relax. I think it’s so important to spend some time rejuvenating whether it’s reading a book, taking a bubble bath, hanging out with the family, or even catching up on a tv show. Ryan and I actually started watching Lost a few weeks ago and are slightly obsessed. We’ve been in pjs and binge watching since Friday.. 😉

I hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Top // Pants

I’m in loooove with this pink top y’all. It’s affordable and perfect for this gorgeous Spring weather! I’m also a huge fan of these white pants from Nordstrom. They’re great quality and fit really well.

This weekend Ryan and I went to see Beauty and the Beast! It was so good! Emma Watson was the perfect Belle and I loved the music. We also had a Barnes and Noble reading/coffee date that was so much fun! Definitely a relaxing weekend 🙂 I hope everyone has a great week!

The Perfect Spring Staples + an Amazing Photographer

Photographer: Wesley Peterson Photography

Top // Simliar shoes here & here // Earrings

Every year I count down the days to warmer weather and getting to wear Spring and Summer clothes. Whenever March rolls around, I love going shopping for new white pants, dresses, and colorful tops! However, the weather here has been such a roller coaster. One week its 30-40 degrees and the next 70-80; I never know what it’s going to feel like outside so I have no idea what to wear! I’m a big fan of having a few neutral or basic pieces that you can put on during any season. I found this white top at Vestique in Greenville! It’s a great basic staple to have in your closet for the upcoming seasons. I can’t wear to pair it with shorts or a skirt for the summer. Another Spring staple item I can’t live without are these Dolce Vita wedges! They pretty much can be worn with anything and are so, so comfortable.

So I have to take a minute to brag on the amazing photographer/old friend who did these pictures; Wesley Peterson (@wesleympeterson)! She is so much fun to work with and knows what she’s doing behind her lens. I can’t wait to see what she has in store next and am so happy to be working with her. Stay tuned for more 🙂

One of my Favorite Places in Greenville

Photographer: Wesley Peterson Photography

Top // Shoes // Necklace

My best friend & I recently went shopping in downtown Asheville and stumbled upon this grey peplum top in Urban Outfitters. I saw it and instantly knew it belonged in my Spring wardrobe. Lately I’ve been pairing a statement necklace with it and wearing it at least once a week! I’m tempted to buy it in every color & it’s only $24 ….. 🙂

One of my new favorite places is Caviar and Bananas in downtown Greenville. It’s the perfect atmosphere to bring your laptop, grab a quick coffee or dessert, and sit and relax. They have a small market inside, a wine bar, and also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I love that they deliver to customers downtown on a bike! (We stole one of these bikes for pictures!!) Did I mention that they decorated the inside with marble tables and gold chairs?! Ahhh to die for!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! 🙂

Fun + Flirty

Dress // Vest // Purse // Shoes

Y’all I am currently in love with this outfit! I went shopping at Dress Up the other day and snagged the cutest items. My boyfriend and I went to brunch and explored downtown today and I thought this outfit was perfect for the occasion. I bought this light grey swing dress other day in Dress Up for less than $30! It’s lightweight, comfortable, and perfect for this 90 degree weather we’ve been having in South Carolina lately. I think it would also be very cute paired with a statement necklace for a girls night, or even paired with Converses to run some errands. I also got this light pink vest in Dress Up the other day too. I’m obsessed with this color; it’s so fun and flirty. I think this vest could be styled in all seasons and is a good staple to have in your closet. These shoes were so comfortable for walking around all day and are the perfect neutral color to go with almost any outfit.

This week I went to a new restaurant that opened in downtown called ‘Ink & Ivy’ and if you live in Greenville, I highly recommend it! I got the blackened chicken caesar salad and it was to die for!! If anyone has any other recommendations for good restaurants in Greenville, let me know! 🙂

Summer Scallops

Similar Top 1 // 2 // 3

Happy Monday! I fell in love with this summer top for three reasons: it’s bright pink, scalloped at the bottom, + it’s off-the-shoulder (aka my favorite things). I’ve been buying off-the-shoulder items recently because they are so fun and flattering to wear. I also have been loving bright colors for the summer and I think this is the perfect pink to pair with white pants. This top came from the Francesca’s in Hilton Head (unfortunately they don’t have it online). However, I did link some similar ones above that are just as cute!

Tonight I’m going to hang out with some girlfriends to watch the Bachelorette. I love Jojo as the Bachelorette but I’m not really loving her guys. Chase is my favorite so far! What do y’all think of this season?!

Bahama Mama

Isn’t this maxi so fun?! This dress is perfect for a beachy vacation or dinner with the girls! I love how colorful this print is and it’s also so comfortable. You can find the link to this dress below the picture & it is currently on SALE! 🙂

I’m spending the day just hanging out with friends and family that are from out of town. Later I’m looking forward to relaxing and curling up with my new book! I just started #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso. I will let you know whether I love it or not!
